I had the chance to share at a church revival up in Continental last night. It was a little country church and the crowd of 25-30 folks were all faithful members of the congregation for decades. They loved the Lord, and the hymns and one another, and they kept that little church going.
What do you say to such a group at a revival?
I shared two things.
Scripture and my story.
This morning, I was sitting around the table with 12 coaches down in New Bremen and we were doing the same thing. We were sharing our stories and encouraging each other to find people who need to hear our story.
I was amazed how my story paralleled so many of the ones whom I was sharing with, both last night and today. Some people that were older than me said they could relate. Some friends that were my contemporaries have been there too.
Our stories our powerful. They bring healing to ourselves and let other people know that they are not alone in what they are enduring.
Our stories shake the landscape of the Spiritual world. Just look at Revelation 12: 10-11.
“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
So go tell your story to someone who needs to hear it. You both will benefit from the truth that comes from it. I’d love to hear your story too.
