“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge, and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. ” (1 Peter 1: 5-7)
I was shaving today before our WTLW show, Faith and Friends, but I had a potential problem unfolding before me. My razor was down to 10 percent, and I didn’t have the charging cord. What if it died in the middle of shaving? I would have to go on tv with a half-shaved face! So, I prioritized which area to shave when. My neck came first, followed by the sides of my face and finally the goatee area. Thankfully, I made it through without the razor dying.
Does life ever feeling overwhelming to you? Like you have too much to tackle and don’t know where to start?
Just like my shaving experience today, I encourage you to take small chunks and let them build upon themselves. Before you know it, tasks will be accomplished and life will feel less overwhelming. Peter tells us to do the same thing with our faith
Shave a piece at a time and before you know, you’ll have a finished product, that you can be proud of. A life characterized by love is a life well-lived.
