It’s finally Spring in Ohio! I think it is anyhow. And it’s days like today that remind me why I love Ohio and experiencing all four seasons (albeit sometimes out of order – We had more spring in winter then winter haha).
But Spring reminds me about a lot of things. Rebirth. Hope. Warmth. Peace. New Life.
These are things that we are promised in Scripture as well, when we turn to God (or turn back to God).
“We have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4)
Just dwell on those five words at the end of that precious promise from our Father (through Paul).
Walk in newness of life.
Next time you go outside, do what I did. Pause for a moment to feel the sun on your face. The sun that reminds us each day, that His mercies are new every morning. That He is faithful. (Lamentations 3:23-24)
Take a step and look at the buds on the trees and the flowers that are starting to bloom. Let it remind you of what Jesus said in Matthew 6 to take the worries of life from those that He loved.
“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!”
God has given us a very clear reminder with Spring. The cold, dark season that sometimes imprisons us in our houses is gone. He has given us a newness of life to walk in.
We don’t walk alone. He is with us on that path.
