WOSN Sports Producer

 General Description

 As a representative of WOSN, this individual must exhibit in his or her personal and professional life, moral standards that do not compromise or reflect negatively on the station’s stated mission and Statement of Purpose.  Reporting to WTLW’s Sports Director, this person will be responsible for WOSN sports productions. The sports producer is a non-exempt position to be compensated an hourly rate commensurate with his/her her experience. Normal work hours will include afternoons and evenings, Tuesday through Saturday.

Requirements

 The sports producer must be a team player who works well with others and displays a positive attitude toward his/her associates. This person must be organized and be a good communicator. He/she she must be willing to share information with co-workers and take direction from superiors. It is vitally important for this person to manage time, labor and other resources to maximize productivity and minimize cost.

 Responsibilities

 Collaborate with the Senior Master Control Operator to coordinate WOSN’s program schedule.

Serve as liaison to athletic directors to communicate production schedules, game day arrival times and other production requirements such as electrical hookup, parking location, cable runs and camera and announcer locations.

Perform other tasks and responsibilities as identified in the Football/ Basketball Producer job description.

Collaborate with other sports department personnel to acquire and/or produce video content for air on WOSN.

Direct WOSN and WTLW productions as needed.

Coordinate with sales and video production departments to ensure all in-game sponsorship commitments are honored.

Collaborate with fellow staff members to acquire/ produce spiritual video content thus enabling WOSN to accomplish its goal of witnessing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In collaboration with the sports director, the sports producer is responsible for WOSN’s on-air presentation and is granted authority by the General Manager to make final decisions regarding creative elements to be broadcast over WOSN, 44.2.

Football and Basketball Production Positions:

WTLW TV is seeking to fill part-time positions for our high school football and basketball productions from September through March.  Duties include camera operation and other technical positions. Qualified candidates must be able to stand and carry a full-size video camera for the duration of a football or basketball game. This position requires availability on Friday and Saturday nights.

‘Sports Report’ Production Positions:

WTLW TV is seeking to fill part-time positions for our nightly ‘Sports Report’ productions from August through June.  Duties include camera operation, floor directing and other technical positions. Qualified candidates must be able to stand for the duration of the broadcast.  This position requires availability Tuesday through Saturday nights.
